Josh Gordon returns to Browns' practice

As he awaits the fate of his 2014 season, Browns receiver Josh Gordon rejoined his teammates in practice on Monday, according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Gordon met with NFL officials this past weekend to discuss his appeal for a season-long ban due to multiple failed drug tests. As for the most recent failed test, which reportedly barely crossed the NFL's threshold, Gordon is claiming second-hand smoke as the reason.

Ravens safety Will Hill, who was with the Giants a year ago, used this defense to no avail and will serve a six-game suspension to start the year.

Some analysts have argued that with Ravens running back Ray Rice getting just a two-game suspension, that the NFL could lessen Gordon's suspension to avoid even further fallout. Then again, the drug policy has been collectively bargained and there could be little wiggle room on the issue.

All Gordon can do is wait to hear what the NFL has to say. He is reportedly expected to join media in a conference call later Monday.
