Josh McCown excels for Bears in win

Chicago Bears backup quarterback Josh McCown continues to excel in his work orchestrating the offense, leading his team to a rout of the Dallas Cowboys with five touchdowns.

McCown passed for a career-high four touchdowns and rushed for another in a 45-28 victory Monday night.

McCown passed for 348 yards while starter Jay Cutler continues to recover from an ankle injury.

McCown completed 27 of 36 passes as he had the most touchdowns by a Bears quarrterback since Johnny Lujack in 1949.

"If you were back there quarterbacking and we played the way we played you probably would have five touchdowns," McCown said.

Cutler is still the starter, though, coach Marc Trestman said.

"We'll see where Jay is this week," Trestman said. "He'll have to be released by the doctors and when Jay is ready to play, he'll be playing."
