Josh Morgan's dumb penalty brings stupid death threats

Josh Morgan made an unthinkably stupid mistake when he threw the ball off St. Louis Rams cornerback Cortland Finnegan late in the fourth quarter of the Washington Redskins’ loss on Sunday.

Now, the wide receiver says he’s getting death threats via Twitter.

“I heard everything, especially when they got you on Twitter and they start sending the death threats and wishing bad on your family and your first born and things like that,” Morgan said, according to the Washington Times. “You see it all, you hear it all. You don’t got no choice but to see it all and hear it all. But you never let it get to you, especially me being from D.C.”

Finnegan shoved Morgan after the wide receiver made a short catch. Morgan responded and that drew a 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. Ultimately, it made what would have been a long field goal try a prayer with the Redskins attempting to force overtime. The prayer was not answered.

This isn’t new stuff and it wasn’t following a postseason game. It’s disturbing all the same.

“The only thing I take serious is football and my family,” Morgan said. “Nothing really scares me. I’m from D.C.”

Hopefully, the idiots threatening Morgan get a clue. Very soon.
