Julius Jones, Jordan Babineaux released in Seattle
The Seattle Seahawks were relatively quiet on Saturday when it came to the club’s releases, you know, after the BOOM! that comes along with $7 million guaranteed for wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh.
Well, they’re rolling some more veterans out of the Great Northwest today.
Specifically, running back Julius Jones and safety Jordan Babineaux have been released, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, as first-year general manager John Schneider and first-year coach Pete Carroll continue to operate with an extra-wide push broom in the building.
The moves are not necessarily surprising. In fact, Seattle Times beat writer Danny O’Neil expressed an element of surprise that the cuts were not more veteran heavy on Saturday. Turns out, more were to come.
