Kafka works out for Patriots

The New England Patriots worked out free agent quarterback Mike Kafka on Tuesday, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

Kafka was released by the Philadelphia Eagles in final cuts and could be a good fit in New England, where the Pats released backup quarterback Brian Hoyer themselves in final cuts.

Kafka still has practice squad eligibility, and the Patriots or any other team could stash him there, unless he gets an offer to join a team's 53-man roster.
