Kellen Moore gets competition to make Lions roster

Kellen Moore beat out R.J. Archer during rookie minicamp for the Detroit Lions.

Now, the undrafted free agent from Boise State will have to win out in training camp to nail down a roster job this season. The Lions re-signed Archer, the Arena League product, according to Anwar Richardson of MLive.com, adding him to the mix for camp next month.

According to the report, Moore struggled some during the offseason program and his arm strength has always been a concern. He had difficulty completing passes against the Lions secondary, and that has to be an issue.

Moore was wildly successful in college, posting a 50-3 record as a starter. Archer has spent time with the Georgia Force and Milwaukee Mustangs in the indoor game. He spent parts of the 2010 season with the Minnesota Vikings.
