Kendall Wright proves to be quick learner
Last month, Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Chris Palmer said he didn't want to overload rookie Kendall Wright with too much information too soon.
So he decided that Wright would only learn the X position for the time being and not ask the first-round pick to work on any other positions until he was ready.
Now, apparently Wright is ready for more, according to TitanInsider.com. Palmer allowed Wright this week to branch out and begin learning both the Z and F receiver spots as well.
“He's doing an excellent job. He's learning the system. We started this week moving him to another position,” Palmer said. “He did such a good job the first week in showing everybody what he could do, so now we're starting him with other spots, too.”
As for Wright, who had to memorize plays in his head in college since Baylor had not written playbook, he is enjoying the challenge of learning all of the Titans' offensive system.
“It's different. You've got different routes and all the routes are not the same that you run from the inside or the outside,” Wright said. “There are different concepts and routes at every positions. It's easy to learn all the
positions, it's just know what you've got to do when you run them.”
