Kenny Britt able to run sprints
Kenny Britt wasn't really scheduled to run on his knee until next week, following a clean-up surgery last month.
But Britt was able to do five 100-yard sprints without the aid of his brace on Thursday, according to TitanInsider.com. Britt had ACL and MCL surgery in October and needed a follow-up procedure to reduce some swelling he had experienced during his rehab.
“I'm happy about it. Now, it's on to the next step,” Britt said.
The "next step" will be getting Britt to do some cutting and route-running on the knee. Titans coach Mike Munchak said Britt will be eased into things once training camp begins.
“He’s kind of back to where he was almost before he had the scope, and probably by next week, he’ll feel he’s back to where he was,” Munchak said. “It’s just a matter of how his knee responds to cutting and running routes over the next month. There’s nothing to say it wouldn’t go well. When he gets to camp, he’ll be limited obviously, but we’ll start inserting him into drills and maybe 7-on-7 where there’s not much contact, and he can get his confidence back. Then, we’ll have a feel for where he’s at."
