Kevin Williams will no longer appeal StarCaps case

Kevin Williams is throwing in the towel when it comes to fighting the NFL.

The Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle will no longer fight the four-game suspension he was slapped with more than two years ago. That means Williams, a Pro Bowl performer, will likely miss the first four regular-season games in 2011, a move that will cost him a little less than $1.5 million.

Williams and teammate Pat Williams tested positive for the banned product StarCaps in training camp in 2008. Pat Williams has filed an appeal, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

"We feel this unique case merits further consideration; therefore it's in Pat's best interests to pursue this further," Pat Williams’ agent Angelo Wright said. "He understands this is just part of the process."

Pat Williams, 38, is a free agent and is not expected to return to the Vikings. Per the report, he’s personally spent about $1 million in legal fees.
