Kick from teammate's wife tore Chris Cooley's meniscus
Leave it to Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post to pick up anything relevant on the airwaves in the nation’s capital.
This one is unbelievable. Redskins tight end Chris Cooley underwent arthroscopic knee surgery earlier this week for a torn meniscus. How did he suffer the injury? Well, it just so happens that Susan Yoder, the wife of fellow Redskins tight end Todd Yoder, kicked Cooley in the knee when they were riding in a limousine back in the spring.
Say what? That’s what Cooley told the Junkies on WJFK 106.7 in D.C., and Steinberg caught all of it.
“I didn't want anyone to know I had a knee issue," Cooley said, per the report. “I had two meniscus tears in my knee. One was from 2005 when we played the Giants, and another one was from Todd Yoder's wife in a limousine. She's ruthless. She kicked me. I was falling asleep on the way home. She didn't want me to fall asleep."
They were all returning from ECitie Restaurant & Bar in Tysons Corner, Va., when the kicking happened. Cooley isn’t 100 percent certain this is when he was injured, but he is pretty sure. He’ll be sure not to nod off next time he’s along for a ride with the Yoders.
