Knee injury sidelines Matt Forte
Just nine minutes into today’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Bears’ running back Matt Forte went down with an apparent right knee injury. He is out for the rest of the game. Forte was injured when he was carrying the ball and his right foot planted on the turf as Chiefs’ linebacker Derrick Johnson delivered the hit to his knee. Forte went to the sideline and had his knee checked out by the Bears’ medical staff. Marion Barber is in for Forte.
For most of the year, Forte has been more than 40 percent of the Bears’ offense. He came into today's game with 985 yards rushing and 490 yards receiving. He left today's game having rushed for 12 yards on five attempts.
The running back has reportedly turned down Bears contract offers worth between $13 to $14 million while seeking an $18 to $20 million guaranteed.
