Knighton expected to make full recovery
Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Terrance Knighton is expected to make a full recovery from the eye injury he suffered in an early Sunday morning altercation at a Jacksonville night club, according to the Florida Times-Union.
Knighton required surgery on the eye, and though his injury is serious, it is not expected to have a long-term effect on his vision or jeopardize his football career.
Knighton's agent, Tony Fleming, insists that his client was attempting to break up an altercation between Knighton's friend Tommie Weatherspoon in the club when Knighton was attacked and hit with a vodka bottle.
Fleming also disputed the police report that said Knighton and Weatherspoon threatened to "shoot people" outside the club.
“It wasn’t his altercation; it wasn’t his argument,” Fleming told the paper. “Terrance was not involved in the altercation. His friend was involved.”
