LaBoy paying a visit to Niners
The San Francisco 49ers are exploring the addition of Travis LaBoy as a situational pass rusher as the veteran is meeting with the team today, the club announced.
LaBoy was out of football last season after being released by the Arizona Cardinals a year ago. He suffered a biceps injury that required surgery and was let go by Arizona one season into a $22 million, five-year contract.
LaBoy, originally a second-round draft pick by Tennessee in 2004, appeared in 13 games with 12 starts for the Cardinals in 2008 and made four sacks. He’s been used as a defensive end but would likely be a standup linebacker for the 49ers.
