Lawyer: Maurkice Pouncey to be charged with battery

Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey will be charged with misdemeanor battery, according to a lawyer representing victims in a nightclub fight.

According to the lawyer, Marwan Porter, Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey is unlikely to face charges.

Lawyer Jeff Ostrow, the Pouncey's legal representative, told the Miami Herald that no charges have been filed yet and an assistant state attorney hasn't been assigned to review the evidence.

“Until such time, no charges can be formally filed against either of my clients,” Ostrow said. “From what we’ve discovered, the evidence supporting the battery claims is flimsy, at best. Many witness who are prepared to testify under sworn oath that neither Maurkice nor Mike had anything to do with the incident. Consequently, after the state reviews all the evidence, I find it highly unlikely that formal charges will be filed against either of the Pouncey brothers.”

Maurkice Pouncey likely wouldn't be extradited, but he will eventually have to deal with the case.
