LeSean McCoy to be traded to Bills for LB Kiko Alonso
Adam Schefter has reported that the Buffalo Bills are trading LB Kiko Alonso to the Philadelphia Eagles for RB LeSean McCoy.
McCoy, 26, is coming off of a less-than-stellar season. His 5 TDs and 4.2 yards per carry were both the worst in a full season since his debut in 2009. His -9.3 rating by Pro Football Focus earned him the 3rd worst rating of any running back who took at least 25% of snaps this past season. McCoy has shown electricity in his running, but shared the backfield with Darren Sproles this season, which could have caused his reduced production.
Kiko Alonso reunites with his old college coach Chip Kelly from their days at Oregon. Alonso sat out this season recovering from a pre-season ACL tear. His rookie season netted him a few rookie of the year honors, including 10.3 rating from PFF, good for 9th best of all inside linebackers. Alonso played every snap for Buffalo in 2013, and finished with 84 tackles, 4 INTs, and 2 sacks.
