LeSean McCoy won't sit out final 2 games

If there is a risk in LeSean McCoy returning for two meaningless regular-season games after he missed four because of a concussion, the Philadelphia Eagles are willing to take it.

The fact is the running back has been medically cleared to return and he will start Sunday against the Washington Redskins at Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles could have opted to rest him the rest of the way and they have experience with a running back who had concussions in retired former star Brian Westbrook.

I don't live like that, just taking off," McCoy said, according to ESPN.com. "I'm a competitor, and I'm going to finish the season out."

Quarterback Michael Vick has also been cleared for a return and he will be designated as the third quarterback for the game.

The hope is McCoy will provide a boost in what is expected to be the final home game of Andy Reid’s tenure as Eagles head coach.

“I'm going to keep a close eye on him," Reid said of McCoy. "It won't be a normal workload like you'd see during the season when he's fresh. He's coming off an injury. I understand that, so I'll keep a close eye on him. He'll work in as a starter and then Bryce has some valuable experience that he's gained over the last few weeks so we'll get him in there."
