Like clockwork, Johnny Jolly's drug trial delayed
That piercing noise you hear off in the distance is the sound of a whistle.
Yes, the official has blown the whistle and called a false start on the case of Johnny Jolly.
Once again, I believe we’re at the umpteenth time, Jolly’s felony drug trial in Harris County, Texas, has been delayed. Scheduled to start this morning, it will now kick off on Friday, according to Greg Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. That Friday start time for the trial is subject to change, of course.
Jolly is to stand trial on charges of possessing codeine nearly two years ago. If convicted, the Green Bay Packers defensive end could face up to 20 years in jail. Jolly is a restricted free agent who has yet to sign his one-year tender with the team.
The trial was also set to start last week but was pushed forward to today because of a slew of other cases on the docket. Please. Stay tuned.
