Lions bring back CB Nathan Vasher on one-year deal
Nathan Vasher didn’t get a lot of opportunities with the Detroit Lions last season, but when he did near the end of the year, he made the most of them.
The club re-signed the veteran to a one-year contract before the end of business on Thursday, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, ensuring the one-time Pro Bowl performer will return in 2011.
Vasher made a key interception of Chad Henne in a Week 16 victory at Miami. He was signed at the start of the season after the San Diego Chargers had cut Vasher. The Lions will hope to re-sign veteran Chris Houston in free agency, but they need to find significant upgrades for the secondary, perhaps the biggest problem spot on the team.
