Lions cut guard Rodney Austin after arrest in North Carolina

The Detroit Lions cut offensive guard Rodney Austin after he was arrested in North Carolina. According to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office in Charlotte, N.C.,  Austin was booked on four misdemeanor charges: assault on a female, assault on a child under 12, interference with emergency communication, and misdemeanor larceny. Austin was released on a $2.250 bond. Austin is a former undrafted free agent who has spent the majority of the past three seasons on the Lions' practice squad.
