Lions cut Vaughn Martin, sign two players

The Detroit Lions cut veteran defensive tackle Vaughn Martin and signed wide receiver Cody Wilson and outside linebacker-defensive end Kalonji Kashama.

Martin was signed in March, but was coming off sports hernia surgery.

The former San Diego Chargers starter had one tackle in three games for the Dolphins.

The Lions brought in defensive lineman Derek Landri for a visit last week.

Kashama had 5.5 sacks last season for Eastern Michigan.

Wilson went to training camp with the Lions and spent time on their practice squad last season.

Martin was cut after the Lions drafted former Princeton defensive tackle Caraun Reid in the fifth round.
