Lions facing likely local TV blackout on Sunday

The Detroit Lions look like they are headed toward their first home television blackout of the season.

According to the Detroit News, there are 10,000 tickets remaining for Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins at Ford Field. The deadline to sell out is at 1 p.m. today. In the event the Lions are close to a sellout, they could be granted a 24-hour extension by the NFL.

Per the report, the Lions used an extension to sell out tickets to their previous home games with the Philadelphia Eagles and St. Louis Rams.

We’ll see if there is much buzz about Matthew Stafford returning from a shoulder injury that has had him out since Week 1.
