Lions hire Patriots exec Bob Quinn as general manager

The Detroit Lions have hired New England Patriots director of pro scouting Bob Quinn as their new general manager. Quinn has worked for the Patriots since 2000. He started out as a pro personnel assistant. He was named director of pro scouting in 2012. Quinn won four Super Bowls with the Patriots. He replaces Martin Mayhew. The Lions fired him after a 1-7 start along with team president Tom Lewand.
