Lions rule out Slay, promote Greenwood, cut Spurlock

The Detroit Lions promoted cornerback Chris Greenwood from the practice squad with rookie cornerback Darius Slay ruled out with a knee injury.

Greenwood was drafted in the fifth round by Detroit last year.

He was with the Dallas Cowboys before being released and re-signed by Detroit.

The Lions cut wide receiver-kick returner Micheal Spurlock.
