Lions sign Chris Owens, Greg Salas
The Detroit Lions have signed cornerback Chris Owens and wide receiver Greg Salas to one-year deals.
Salas is a former St. Louis Rams fourth-round pick from Hawaii.
Salas caught 27 passes for 264 yards as a rookie. He was traded to the New England Patriots prior to the 2012 season.
After being claimed by the New York Jets off of the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad in 2013 and catching eight passes for 143 yards, Salas had eight catches for 167 yards and a 20-yard rushing touchdown last season for the Jets.
Owens has 217 career tackles, three interceptions and four sacks.
He has played for the Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs.
Owens is a former San Jose State player and Falcons third-round draft pick.
