Lions' Web site says Titus Young wasn't ordered away

Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young was not asked to stay away from the team’s OTA workout on Monday, according to a story on the team’s Web site.

The story by Tim Twentyman confirms what was reported – that Young engaged in a fight with safety Louis Delmas last week during a training session. Young punched Delmas.

He’s not been ordered to stay away from the facility by the team and is not on any team-mandated suspension,” Twentyman wrote.

What Twentyman does not answer is why Young was AWOL on Monday during the OTA after attending previous workouts. It will be interesting to see how this is explained, and it sure looks like the team is pinning it all on Young.

It’s nice that the Lions confirm the fight took place. But a lot of loose ends are left to be tied up. It’s difficult to imagine Young stayed away on his own. Did the Lions recommend he take a day off? More than one day off? Maybe we’ll learn more soon.
