Locker practices, on track to play next week

Jake Locker returned to practice for the first time since his second separation of his left non-throwing shoulder three weeks ago against Houston.

Locker won't play when the Titans visit the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, but the plan is for him to return and start when Tennessee hosts division rival Indianapolis on Oct. 28, per TitanInsider.com.

It was good to see him. I watched him do individual drills. He threw seven-on-seven for the defense,” Titans coach Mike Munchak said. “It was what we hoped he’d be able to handle. Now we just have to see how sore he got and just keep progressing and giving him more to do. He’s a guy you have to hold back, he wants to be out there. In his mind, he could play tomorrow if we had to play. He’s progressing the way we hoped, and we’ll see how sore he is from what he did today and keep adding more to his routine.”

Matt Hasselbeck will make his third straight start Sunday, but when Locker is healthy enough to return, the second-year pro will again be the Titans starting QB.
