Longtime Raven Haloti Ngata Traded to Lions

Ravens' general manager Ozzie Newsome is not one for sentiment, as his business-minded approach was on display this afternoon.

Just one of a flurry of moves to kick off free-agency, Baltimore announced the team has traded DT Haloti Ngata to Detroit for 2015 4th and 5th round picks.

The Ravens' 12th-overall selection in 2006, Ngata was a 5-time Pro-Bowler and 2-time First Team All-Pro in his 8 years in Baltimore. He presumably fills the void left by Ndamukong Suh'a departure.

As for the Ravens, DT's Timmy Jernigan and Brandon Williams will be given more responsibility up front, and the team clears up $8.5 million in precious cap space.
