Looks like Jim Harbaugh will be next Michigan coach
The University of Michigan has been patiently waiting for its first coaching option for quite some time.
Ever since the Wolverines fired Brady Hoke shortly after the season-finale against Ohio State, cementing a 5-7 season, the university hasn't been in a rush to hire a head coach. That can be attributed to Michigan waiting out 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh, with hopes that he'll return to coach his alma mater.
The stars appear to be aligning for that to happen, as NFL.com is reporting that Michigan officials believe Harbaugh is going to accept the job after he and the 49ers part ways following Sunday's Week 17 game against the Cardinals.
The Raiders are reportedly still hopeful they can get Harbaugh but there has been a lot of buzz building for Harbaugh to Michigan over the past week. It would seem Harabugh will head back to the college ranks barring a complete change of heart over the next couple of days.
