Louis Delmas off PUP list for Lions
The Detroit Lions got a major piece of their defense back this morning when Louis Delmas took the field.
The second-year safety has been activated from the physically unable to perform list, according to Tom “Killer” Kowalski of MLive.com. Delmas had been inactive for the first 10 days of camp, slowly working his way back from a groin injury that cropped up during the offseason program in June.
There had been some speculation that Delmas could be headed toward surgery that could put the 2010 season in jeopardy. That is not the case, not at this point anyway. The Lions’ secondary certainly cannot afford to lose Delmas, who emerged as a future star last season.
Tight end Will Heller was also activated from PUP.
