Luck not moving to Indy just yet

INDIANAPOLIS _ It may be a foregone conclusion that Andrew Luck will be an Indianapolis Colt, but the Stanford quarterback says it is a little premature to talk about such things as living in Indianapolis or replacing Peyton Manning.

Asked at the NFL Combine if he had been looking at houses in the city, Luck replied, “Nah, it's a little premature to do that, I think.”

Luck is poised to potentially taking over for Manning in a rebuilding process for the Colts as the first overall pick, and said Manning was his football role model growing up.

“I'm not too caught up in that right now. I understand that is a possibility. Peyton was my hero growing up. He was my football hero. That's who I modeled myself after in high school, middle school, whatever it was,” Luck said. “You never truly replace a guy like that. And who knows what happens? So many different things can happen. I'm not thinking about it too much right now.”

Luck has a friendship with Manning and has attended the Manning family football camp the past two years. He said he understands that answering questions about a potentially awkward situation is part of the deal.

“I understand the questions have to be asked. It's part of it. I understand it's speculation. In my mind, too, nothing's happened yet. I haven't been drafted by any team and obviously with Peyton, that's still going on with the Colts. It's not uncomfortable. I understand the questions have to be asked,” Luck said.
