Man shot, killed while Giants were at club celebrating

The New York Giants have already had to deal with a wide receiver that was shot at a Manhattan night club.

So, the club was fortunate Tuesday morning when Victor Cruz was not injured while celebrating his birthday at Supper Club on W. 21st Street when one man was shot and killed.

Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports that Cruz was there with several teammates celebrating his 25th birthday. Per the report, defensive backs Antrel Rolle and Aaron Ross and defensive tackle Chris Canty were among other Giants at the club.

The report indicates the players were not aware a shooting had taken place at the club, one that killed a 43-year-old man. Another man and a woman were also struck by bullets.

Still fresh in the mind of the Giants, of course, is the incident from nearly three years ago when Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg at The Latin Quarter in Manhattan, leading to his jail stint.

In this incident, the players were out at night with an off day the next day.
