Mangini: 'I believe in the things we've done'
From The Plain Dealer:
BEREA, Ohio -- Neither Browns owner Randy Lerner nor new president Mike Holmgren have talked to Eric Mangini yet about his future as the team's coach.
And Mangini doesn't have a problem with that.
"I won't focus on that this week. I won't focus on it next week. That's really a discussion for after the season. Whatever the decision is, the decision is," Mangini said Tuesday.
"I'm very comfortable with the things we've done and I know the things that we're building here. So it's not going to be a focal point."
Holmgren will arrive after Christmas to begin his new job of heading the Browns football operations. National media speculation has been almost unanimous in predicting Holmgren will not retain Mangini.
Mangini believes that Holmgren's experience as a head coach will help him understand the circumstances behind the Browns' 3-11 record in Mangini's first season.
