Mangold expected back for Jets vs. Patriots
Center Nick Mangold, who has been out of both games in the New York Jets' two-game slide, should be ready to go this weekend against the New England Patriots.
According to the New York Post, Mangold is expected to start after practicing a second straight day. Coach Rex Ryan made the announcement after Thursday's practice. Mangold has been bothered by a high ankle sprain, and his absence forced the Jets to shuffle their offensive line with disastrous results last Sunday night against Baltimore.
Also, wide receiver Plaxico Burress (elbow) and linebacker Calvin Pace (abdomen) were back practicing on Thursday after sitting out Wednesday.
