Manning vs. Brady up next in AFC championship

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning won his first playoff game since joining the Broncos, defeating the San Diego Chargers, 24-17, and setting up an AFC championship game clash against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

The Broncos built a 17-0 lead by the fourth quarter, but almost lost their lead.

Manning and Brady have history, including a 34-31 Patriots overtime win over the Broncos on Nov. 24.

"It's the Broncos versus the Patriots and certainly Tom and I have played against each other a lot," Manning said. "But when you get to the AFC Championship, it's about two good teams that have been through a lot to get there."

Manning completed 25 of 36 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns Sunday. During the regular season, he had 55 touchdowns and passed for 5,447 yards.
