Marc Trestman not optimistic Lance Briggs will return Sunday

Chicago Bears coach Marc Trestman said the likelihood that linebacker Lance Briggs would play against the Cleveland Browns this Sunday is low.

"I’m not optimistic," Trestman said, via ESPN.com. "We’ll know a little more today and tomorrow. He did some running last week. Will that be upgraded to limited work in practice? We won’t be in pads tomorrow. We’ll be in shells. He was not in shells last week. We’ll see what the trainers want to do and what he wants to do tomorrow.”

Trestman also described Briggs as "week-to-week."

Though the Bears' defense could use Briggs back, if the offense continues to have games like Monday's against the Cowboys, they'll be just fine.
