Nine-year NFL veteran Marcus Spears announced what is assumed to be his retirement from the NFL as he embarks on the next phase of his career.
Spears, who played eight years witht he Cowboys and five games this past season with the Ravens, will join the SEC Network as an analyst.
"Thank you the fans!! Thank you thank you thank you God bless you all and every know and then flip over to the @SECNetwork and check me out," Spears wrote on his personal twitter account.
In nine years, Spears totaled 236 tackles and 10 sacks as a defensive end. After he was released by the Cowboys after the 2012 season, he signed with the Ravens. Spears only lasted five games, however, before Baltimore released him.
He had 10 tackles and did not record a sack.
