Marcus Trufant returns to Seahawks
Marcus Trufant is back with the Seattle Seahawks.
A month after the club released the veteran cornerback who is from Tacoma, he has re-signed for a 10th season.
The question is whether or not Trufant can hold up this season. The 31-year-old played in just four games last season because of a back issue. It was similar to the condition that kept him out of the first six games of the 2009 season, according to Danny Thomas of the Seattle Times.
The Seahawks cut Trufant March 7 because he was due to earn $7.2 million this season. Now, he provides depth and comes at a much cheaper rate. The club saw Brandon Browner and Richard Sherman develop as starters last season and Walter Thurmond is in the mix but he’s slowed right now in recovery from a broken leg.
Seattle drafted Trufant 11th overall in 2003.
