Matt Kalil gets into altercation with fan

Minnesota Vikings offensive tackle Matt Kalil acknowledged that he shouldn't have gotten into an argument with a fan outside of the stadium, attributing the frustration to a loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Kalil left the stadium without talking to reporters after being penalized three times for 35 yards. He then knocked a fan's hat off of his head after being criticized by the fan.

"I usually shrug that stuff off," Kalil said. "Fans like to talk and say some things, but it's just something [where] I could have been the bigger man and walked away. It really wasn't that big of a deal. He just caught me when I had a short fuse that day.

"It was one of those things when I walked away it was, 'What am I doing?' That guy's not really worth my time. But whatever happened, happened, so I'll obviously learn from that and won't let him get the best of me."

Kalil was on the phone with his father when he walked out of the locker room without conducting interviews.

"I don't think it was that big a deal," Kalil said. "I was still on the cell phone with my dad," he said. "So it's not like I'm fighting with a guy and talking to my dad on the phone. Like I said, should've just shrugged it off and especially in the locker room I'm always great talking to you guys and stuff. It just wasn't my best day."
