Matthew Stafford will resume light throwing this week
Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford will resume light throwing this week in his efforts to return from an injury suffered in the season opener at Chicago.
Stafford said in a radio interview that it would be the first throwing that is “all on,” according to Tom “Killer” Kowalski of MLive.com. Stafford was evasive when asked if he had already begun throwing.
It seems unlikely that he could start some light throwing on Wednesday and be back in time for Sunday’s game at Green Bay. However, the Lions’ Oct. 10 game vs. St. Louis might be a target for a return and certainly the hope has to be that he can return to the fold before the Oct. 24 bye week.
