McClain's attorney proclaims innocence
The attorney for Oakland Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain maintains his client's innocence regarding his alleged role in firing a gun and other charges stemming from a fight in his native Decatur, Ala. on Wednesday.
"Mr. McClain asserts his innocence," Burney said in a statement picked up by ESPN.com. "We are confident that Mr. McClain will be cleared of all charges."
McClain, who is alleged to have held a gun beside a man's head while the man begged him not to shoot, is charged with firing a weapon inside city limits, third degree assault, menacing and reckless endangerment. McClain was released on $2,000 bond.
