McCoy, Eagles starters expected to play Sunday
The Philadelphia Eagles have been eliminated from the NFC playoff race but Andy Reid plans on playing all of his healthy starters.
That means LeSean McCoy, who is 203 yards shy of Wilbert Montgomery’s single season club record of 1,512 yards rushing, will play against the Redskins.
“We're in this thing to play the best football we possibly can," Reid said, according to the team’s Web site.
Yes, McCoy would need a career game to surpass Montgomery but he’s second in the NFL in rushing with 1,309 yards, trailing Maurice Jones-Drew of the Jacksonville Jaguars by 128 yards.</p>
Per the report, four defensive starters could be sidelined for the game based on injuries they have. That group includes cornerback Asante Samuel who was sidelined Saturday against Dallas with a strained hamstring.
