Melvin Ingram, Brandon Taylor on physically unable to perform list

Two San Diego Chargers with long-term knee injuries were placed on the physically unable to perform list: outside linebacker Melvin Ingram and safety Brandon Taylor.

They're both coming off torn anterior cruciate ligaments.

A first-round draft pick last year, Ingram got hurt in May at an organized team activity,

His loss is a major blow to the Chargers' defense.

Taylor injured his knee against the New York Jets last December.

Ingram is expected to begin the season on the physically unable to perform list. He could miss the entire season.
