Metrodome deflated for final time
The Metrodome has been officially deflated, and not from a Minnesota Vikings defeat.
The stadium's relief vents were deflated Saturday, a process that only took just over a half-hour.
Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority vice chairman Bill McCarthy told the Associated Press it was "a sad and exciting day at the same time."
The Vikings are going to get a new $1 billion stadium.
The Metrodome opened in 1982.
