Michael Crabtree could miss a couple more weeks of practice
If the timetable Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee offers for Michael Crabtree is on the money, you have to wonder if the wide receiver will be ready for the start of the regular season.
Crabtree closed training camp still on the physically unable to perform list as a result of the left foot injury he suffered back in June. According to Barrows, Crabtree probably will not rejoin practice for “a couple of more weeks.” Seeing as we’re 22 days away from the Sunday of Kickoff Weekend, that’s going to make it challenging for Crabtree to be ready.
Even if the 49ers get Crabtree back on the field in two weeks, would they play him in the game after just one week of practice when he missed all of preseason and training camp? That scenario would be a little hard to imagine. Hopefully, he is healed up sooner rather than later.
