Michael McCaskey to retire as Bears' chairman
The Chicago Bears will shuffle the front office at the end of the 2010 season when Michael McCaskey will retire as the club’s chairman of the board.
George McCaskey, the team’s director of ticket operations and a member of the board of directors, will take over for his older brother.
Michael McCaskey has been in his role as chairman since 1999 after the club infamously botched the hiring of Dave McGinnis as a replacement for coach Dave Wannstedt. Ted Phillips serves as the club’s president and will remain in charge of day-to-day operations. Virginia McCaskey, the daughter of George Halas, is the club’s secretary.
