Michigan tackle Taylor Lewan visiting Rams

Former Michigan offensive tackle Taylor Lewan is regarded as one of the top talents at the position this draft class.

Therefore, despite the off-field concerns, Lewan is still attracting attention around the league. On Monday, Lewan visited the Atlanta Falcons, according to NFL.com, and then made a trip out to Detroit on Tuedsay, according to the Lions' team site.

At the end of his visit, Lewan told the Lions' site that his next stop was to visit the St. Louis Rams on Wednesday.

All three teams hold top 10 picks and could take an offensive tackle early. The Rams hold the second overall pick, though it's assumed Greg Robinson and Jake Matthews are tackles ranked higher than Lewan. The Falcons pick sixth and the Lions hold the 10th overall selection. St. Louis also has the 13th pick, too.

Lewan is dealing with an off-field matter, however. He was recently charged with three misdemeanors after an alleged assault in Ann Arbor, Mich. His arraignment is scheduled for next week on April 8.

Lewan was also accused of threatening a woman involved in a rape investigation through text messaging, something the offensive tackle denied in February at the NFL combine.

“I can say that I’ve never said those things," Lewan said at the combine. "I’ve said a lot of dumb things in my life, but those are not things that I’ve said, and like I said before, that’s definitely a very touchy subject. I would never disrespect a woman like that. I like to consider myself a guy that likes to hold doors instead of threaten people. That’s not the kind of person I am.”
