Michigan Tech pass rusher Brandon Hutchinson impressing NFL scouts

Michigan Tech's 6-foot-1, 245-pound outside linebacker-defensive end Brandon Hutchinson is impressing NFL scouts. He's run the 40-yard dash in 4.60 seconds with a 9-8 broad jump, a 36-inch vertical leap, a 4.17 20-yard shuttle and a 7.21 three-cone drill and has bench pressed 225 pounds 28 times. He participated in a regional NFL combine in Minnesota. His 40-yard dash time would rank him second among all defensive ends from the combine with his 20-yards huttle ranking second, and his 40-yard dash time and bench press ranking first among inside linebackers. Hutchinson played in the Dream Bowl. Hutchinson is a four-time all-academic selection. He finished last season with 36 tackles, 10 for losses and 2 1/2 sacks. As a junior, he has 36 tackles, one sack and 4 1/2 tackles for losses. Follow me on Twitter: @AaronWilson_NFL Aaron Wilson covers the Houston Texans for The Houston Chronicle.
