Mike Wallace: 'I'm mad at myself'
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace offered an explanation Monday about his angry reaction following a 23-10 win over the Cleveland Browns.
Wallace caught just one pass for 15 yards, not what he envisioned after signing a $60 million contract during the offseason.
"I'm mad at myself just because I didn't have a good game," Wallace told reporters. "That's all."
So, why did he say reporters should ask the coaches about the playcalling Sunday?
"I was upset with myself," Wallace said. "It wasn't really anything else to do with anything. I would've told you the same thing regardless. If you ask me about the plays, I don't really have the answer. That's all I meant by that."
Wallace did talk to Dolphins coach Joe Philbin about the situation.
"Mike's a competitor," Dolphins offensive coordinator Mike Sherman said. "He wants to feel a part of the game, as I hope that he would. He came here to be a factor in our season and our success. The fact that he's disappointed he only caught one ball, that's expected. I have no problem with that."
