Miles Austin not concerned about hamstring issues
A hamstring injury wiped out much of training camp for Miles Austin a year ago and wound up dramatically impacting his regular season as he missed nearly half a year.
So, there has to be some level of concern with Austin currently sitting out in Dallas Cowboys camp with what the team has described as tightness in his hamstring. Austin has been sidelined since last week and is unlikely to play in the club’s preseason opener on Monday.
“It’s up to whoever to be concerned,” Austin said, according to the team’s official Web site. “Anybody who wants to be concerned can be concerned. I can’t focus on who’s concerned or who’s not concerned. I need to focus on getting back.”
The Cowboys are being extra cautious with Austin this time around because of what the veteran went through in 2011. Still, it doesn’t mean they have a cure for the situation. Austin, for one, isn’t worried about it getting this season off to an ominous start.
“I know how hard I work, first off,” he said. “And also, I have trust in God, so you shouldn’t be concerned. So, yeah, I’m not concerned.”
