Minor knee injury sidelines Babineauex a few weeks
Jonathan Babineaux gutted it out on a bad knee on Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
But the Atlanta Falcons will be without their defensive tackle for a while now as a partially torn MCL will sideline him three to five weeks, according to his agent Jack Bechta.
Babineaux doesn’t necessarily need arthroscopic surgery this season but could require a minor procedure in the future.
The Falcons have been thin at defensive tackle with Corey Peters sidelined for more than three weeks with a knee injury. Peria Jerry started in his place against the Bears. Perhaps Peters will be back in the mix for the Falcons’ game vs. the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at the Georgia Dome.
In the interest of full disclosure, Bechta is a founding partner of the National Football Post.
